Southern California Authorities Search for Witnesses and Victims in Kidnapping Case

Los Angeles(Thechieftainspear) – Los Angeles police are investigating whether there may be more victims connected to a 26-year-old man arrested for the attempted kidnapping of a teenage girl, authorities announced Monday.

Varush Manoukyan, an Armenian national, was taken into custody on April 10 in connection with an incident that occurred the previous day around 5 p.m., according to the LAPD’s Mission Division.

Officials say the victim, a teenage girl, was briefly taken but managed to escape the suspect’s vehicle almost immediately and call for help. The suspect’s car, a black 2014 Mercedes-Benz E350 sedan, has been seized, and Manoukyan remains in police custody.

Investigators believe Manoukyan may have approached other individuals in recent months, possibly attempting similar encounters. Police say he often engaged with people using a foreign language and may have used a phone translation app to ask for directions or solicit assistance in a misleading manner.
