California (Thechieftainspear) – A man is in police custody following a high-speed pursuit across Southern California freeways that ended in a crash in downtown Los Angeles.

The chase began in the Long Beach area around 5:30 p.m., but deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department soon canceled their involvement. It remains unclear if the same suspect was involved when California Highway Patrol (CHP) picked up the pursuit.

According to reports, a CHP helicopter tracked the suspect, who was driving a white SUV on the northbound 110 Freeway. The driver was seen maneuvering aggressively through heavy traffic, using the shoulder to weave in and out of lanes.

The suspect then exited the freeway and took to surface streets in downtown Los Angeles. He continued to drive recklessly, running red lights and putting other motorists at risk. Los Angeles police briefly joined the chase as the suspect drove at high speed on the wrong side of the road.

The chase ended when the suspect ran a red light at an intersection on Glendale Boulevard and collided with another vehicle. The impact disabled the SUV, and the driver tried to flee on foot. However, CHP officers quickly apprehended the suspect, bringing the dangerous pursuit to an end.
