(Thechieftainspear) – UCLA Police are investigating a robbery attempt that occurred on campus Monday morning after a staff member managed to escape from the suspect.
The incident took place around 9:50 a.m. near the Center for Health Sciences, as the employee was walking out onto Westwood Boulevard. According to the UCLA Police Department, a suspect approached the employee and attempted to snatch the cell phone from their hand. However, the employee managed to pull the phone back and ran from the scene.
The suspect briefly pursued the employee but eventually turned around and walked south toward Westwood Village. Authorities did not immediately release details on whether there was a confrontation or if the suspect knew the employee.
The suspect is described as a man in his 20s, with short, curly hair, a dark complexion, and a clean-shaven face. A mole under his right eye was also noted. At the time of the attempted robbery, the suspect was seen wearing a blue moving blanket draped over his body.

While no injuries were reported, the UCLA Police are continuing to investigate the incident. In the meantime, they are reminding the campus community to remain vigilant and take safety precautions, such as:
