Man Sentenced to 30 Years for Sexually Abusing Toddler and Sharing Videos on X

(Thechieftainspear) – A 23-year-old man from Monrovia, California, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for producing and distributing explicit videos of child abuse. David Lisandro Perez Figueroa, convicted of sexually abusing a toddler, received a 360-month sentence, along with a lifetime of supervised release. In addition to his prison term, Figueroa was ordered to pay $2,799 in restitution to his victims.

Figueroa’s criminal activities began in July 2023, during which he filmed himself abusing a 2-year-old child and uploaded the videos to X, formerly known as Twitter. The disturbing content was flagged during an investigation by law enforcement agents in the United Kingdom, who were working on an unrelated case. The tip was passed to U.S. authorities, leading to the discovery of the videos.

On December 5, 2023, federal agents executed a search warrant at Figueroa’s residence in Monrovia, where he was subsequently arrested. After months of detention, Figueroa pleaded guilty to the charges in November 2024.

Figueroa’s 30-year sentence is shorter than the statutory maximum penalty of 50 years for the two-count indictment, though it remains a significant sentence for such serious crimes. The investigation was carried out by the Department of Homeland Security, which continues to combat child exploitation and trafficking across international borders.
