15-Year-Old Boy Injured in South LA Hit-and-Run Crash

(Thechieftainspear) – A 15-year-old boy was hospitalized after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while riding his bike home from school in South Los Angeles.

The incident happened on April 7 around 3:30 p.m. on the 2100 block of Nadeau Street. Surveillance footage captured the terrifying moment when the teen, identified as Sebastian Carillo, was cycling along the sidewalk. Without warning, the driver of a black BMW sedan swerved sharply toward the sidewalk and slammed into Sebastian.

The impact launched Sebastian onto the car’s hood before he crashed onto the pavement. After briefly stopping a few feet away, the driver fled the scene, leaving the injured teen behind.

Nearby witnesses quickly rushed to help. One bystander attended to Sebastian while others ran toward the street in an attempt to photograph and film the suspect’s vehicle.

Sebastian was transported to a nearby hospital, where he received eight stitches to his mouth. He’s currently recovering at home and experiencing difficulty speaking, according to his family.

“He remembers riding from school, and then he just sees this car coming straight at him,” said Eric Carillo, Sebastian’s father, in an interview with KTLA.

Though the full details behind the crash are still under review, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) has not ruled out the possibility that the collision was intentional. Investigators continue to seek answers while Sebastian’s family struggles with the emotional aftermath.

“It’s heartbreaking,” said Eric. “He’s in pain, doesn’t want to leave the house, and doesn’t even feel safe going to school anymore. We just want justice.”

Authorities believe the suspect was behind the wheel of a 2025 black, four-door BMW. Anyone with information is urged to contact CHP’s South L.A. office at 424-551-4000.

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support Sebastian’s recovery and help cover medical costs.
