Southern California(Thechieftainspear) –Two men believed to be affiliated with the Mongols motorcycle club have been arrested in connection with a deadly altercation that took place at a bar in San Bernardino County earlier this year, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
The violent incident occurred during the early morning hours of March 4 at a bar in the city of Ontario. Federal prosecutors allege that 51-year-old Clifford “Buckshot” Lavoy of Montclair and 31-year-old Julian “Juls” Pulido of Upland confronted a member of a rival biker gang, the Vagos, inside the establishment.
Court documents identify the victim only as “V.S.,” who was wearing Vagos club insignia at the time. Lavoy and Pulido allegedly demanded V.S. show deference to the Mongols, which led to a heated confrontation that quickly turned physical.
Prosecutors say the Mongols duo punched V.S. in the face, then continued the attack by kicking him in the head, face, and neck, and attempting to choke him. As the victim tried to escape, Pulido allegedly drew a firearm and shot V.S. multiple times in the back. The wounded man collapsed outside the bar and later died at the scene. He was pronounced dead at 2:45 a.m.

Following the shooting, the suspects fled the scene. Pulido was located shortly afterward, triggering a lengthy police pursuit that spanned five counties. The chase ended when he crashed a black Dodge vehicle near Lost Hills in Kern County along Highway 46. At the time of his arrest, Pulido was still wearing Mongols apparel that matched what he had on the night of the fatal encounter.
Lavoy was taken into custody more than a month later, on April 15, in Whittier. He was booked and subsequently released.
Pulido is facing federal charges of murder in aid of racketeering, a charge that carries a mandatory life sentence if convicted. Lavoy has been charged with assault resulting in serious bodily injury in aid of racketeering and could face up to 20 years in prison.
The Mongols motorcycle club was founded in California in the late 1960s, with its roots tied to Montebello. The Vagos gang also originated in California, emerging from San Bernardino during the same era.
