L.A. Police Pursuit: Man Under Surveillance for Threats Leads Officers on Wild Chase

(Thechieftainspear) – A man from San Gabriel Valley was arrested Tuesday following a dramatic pursuit across several Los Angeles Freeways. Authorities say the man had been under surveillance due to reports of brandishing a weapon and making criminal threats.

According to the Alhambra Police Department, detectives had been monitoring the suspect’s activities after receiving information about threats made the day before. Around 11 a.m., officers attempted to pull over the suspect near 2121 West Main Street, but he refused to stop, leading to a police chase.

The suspect led officers onto multiple freeways across Los Angeles County. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Helicopter assisted in tracking the suspect’s movements, ensuring the safety of the public as the pursuit continued.

Eventually, the suspect abandoned his vehicle in a residential area and fled on foot. A coordinated search by Alhambra police, Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), and California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers led to the man’s arrest in the 400 block of South New Hampshire Avenue, located in Los Angeles’ Koreatown neighborhood.

While police did not mention the suspect’s identity or the specific threats made, a photo released by Alhambra PD shows a K9 officer and his dog standing next to what appears to be a semi-automatic 9mm handgun, which was presumably recovered from the suspect.

Authorities have asked anyone with additional information about the incident to contact Alhambra Police Sergeant Henry Reyes at 626-308-4820. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to the L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-222-8477 or online at lacrimestoppers.org.
