Concern Grows for Missing Downey Teen After 6 Weeks, May Have Left California

(Thechieftainspear) – A 16-year-old boy from Downey, California, has been missing for over six weeks, prompting growing concerns for his well-being. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) issued an urgent public appeal for information on Wednesday regarding the disappearance of Justin Tran.

Tran was last seen at his Downey home on March 7, and his father has reported that there has been no contact with him since that day. “His father is deeply worried for his son’s safety and misses him dearly,” NCMEC stated in a press release. “The family is holding out hope that Justin will return home soon.”

The missing teen is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing around 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Authorities have suggested that Tran may still be in the local area, but there is increasing concern that he may have traveled as far as San Diego County or even to Indianapolis, Indiana.

In an effort to aid in the search, a missing person flyer has been shared on the Neighbors by Ring app, a community-based platform that helps connect people in real-time to important local information, including updates about missing children.

Anyone with information about Justin Tran’s whereabouts or the circumstances surrounding his disappearance is urged to contact the Downey Police Department at 561-861-0771 or the NCMEC at 1-800-843-5678.
