(Thechieftainspear) – A single-engine aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in Coachella on Friday evening, authorities said.
According to Cal Fire and the Riverside County Fire Department, the small Cessna plane came down safely in an open field near the intersection of Calhoun Street and Avenue 49 at approximately 5:30 p.m.

During the landing, the aircraft’s tow banner became entangled in nearby power lines, prompting a temporary closure of Calhoun Street by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials have not confirmed how many individuals were on board the plane at the time, but at least one person declined additional medical treatment at the scene.
Further details remain scarce, including whether any injuries occurred during the incident. The emergency landing remains under investigation.
