Exciting Mandalorian Makeover Coming to Iconic Disneyland Ride

(Thechieftainspear) –Disneyland will offer a new ride experience inspired by The Mandalorian next year, as the resort unveils a fresh take on its popular Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction.

Starting May 22, 2026 — coinciding with the release of the feature film The Mandalorian & Grogu — Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will feature an updated version of Smugglers Run. The new ride will immerse visitors in a storyline centered around the iconic characters, Mando and Grogu.

This exciting update was announced at Disney’s Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

For the first time ever, riders will have the ability to choose their destination when piloting the Millennium Falcon. New options include the gas giant Bespin, the wreckage of the second Death Star near Endor, and Coruscant, the bustling city-planet that fans know well from the Star Wars universe.

Smugglers Run allows participants to take on three different roles: pilot, gunner, or engineer. In this revamped experience, engineers will have an added responsibility: looking after Grogu, affectionately known as Baby Yoda. While details are still under wraps, the adorable green character will be able to interact with the engineer, adding an extra layer of fun to the ride.

“Storytelling and innovation are at the heart of everything Lucasfilm does, and we’re thrilled to take this collaboration to the next level,” said Star Wars creative executive Dave Filoni. “Picture yourself flying alongside Mando and Grogu, taking on daring and dangerous missions.”

Although the ride update will coincide with the debut of the film The Mandalorian & Grogu, its storyline will remain independent from the movie, offering guests a new adventure within the Star Wars galaxy.
