(Thechieftainspear) – A Pomona auto body shop was the focus of a law enforcement raid early Friday morning, as Riverside County deputies and federal agents executed a narcotics-related search warrant.
The operation took place on the 200 block of East Holt Avenue and involved both the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. While officials confirmed the warrant was tied to a narcotics investigation, they declined to release any additional information, citing the ongoing nature of the case.
Pomona Mayor Tim Sandoval was present outside the scene and later confirmed his attendance in a statement to KTLA. Footage provided by a witness showed the mayor near the perimeter as authorities conducted their operation.
The Friday raid follows another high-profile federal action in Pomona earlier in the week. On Tuesday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection detained up to 25 individuals outside a Home Depot store, many of them day laborers. According to immigration advocates, those arrests have stirred fear and anxiety throughout the community. Federal officials later stated the sweep was intended to apprehend a suspect with an outstanding arrest warrant but resulted in the detainment of nine others classified as undocumented.

Mayor Sandoval expressed concern about the recent federal presence in Pomona, saying, “We are deeply troubled by unannounced operations that disrupt the lives of our residents and heighten fear in our neighborhoods. Many in our community already feel vulnerable, and these actions only intensify that fear.”
Sandoval said he did not believe anyone was arrested during Friday’s raid.
In a separate development on Friday, the federal government announced a reversal of its controversial decision to end legal immigration status for over 1,200 international students across the United States. The move comes after legal challenges mounted against the policy, which had left students confused, fearful, and in some cases, forced to leave the country or avoid public places.
Many students affected said they were never informed of the reason behind their visa revocation, and some described minor paperwork issues as the possible cause.
The wave of enforcement actions in Pomona highlights the broader tension surrounding federal immigration policies and their impact on Southern California communities.
