Suspect Steals Small Dog After Breaking Into Tesla in L.A. County Parking Lot

(Thechieftainspear) – A heartbroken dog owner in Rowland Heights is seeking the public’s assistance after her 11-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, named Lemon, was stolen from her car last week.

As of Sunday evening, both the suspect and the missing dog have yet to be located.

Yue Zuo, the dog’s owner, explained that she last saw her beloved pet on the evening of April 19. Zuo had briefly left her Tesla in a parking lot near Plaza at Puente Hills, leaving Lemon inside the vehicle with Tesla’s “Dog Mode” activated. This feature, according to Tesla’s website, allows owners to maintain a comfortable climate inside the car for pets while they are unattended.

When Zuo returned to her car around 9 p.m., she was shocked to discover that her passenger-side window had been shattered and Lemon was gone.

A friend of Zuo’s later contacted KTLA, providing more details about the incident. The friend noted that the suspect had appeared to be involved in stealing from other vehicles before approaching Zuo’s Tesla. According to the friend, the suspect circled the car three times before breaking into the vehicle, grabbing Lemon, and fleeing in their own car.

Zuo and her friend were able to obtain surveillance footage from nearby businesses, but neither of them mentioned if anything else was taken from the Tesla besides Lemon.

Zuo has since filed a police report and shared the suspect’s vehicle details with law enforcement. However, she revealed that officers informed her the suspect’s license plates were fraudulent.

Describing the emotional toll the situation has taken on her, Zuo is urging anyone with information to come forward in hopes of finding her dog.

Lemon, a 7-pound Yorkshire Terrier, is easily recognizable by his distinct appearance. He has a mix of long golden fur on his head, tied into three knots, short black fur on his body, long brown fur on his legs, and shaved paws. He also wears a silver flea collar. Zuo added that Lemon has a noticeable dental issue, with no front teeth, and he loves to eat.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact the police or directly reach out to Zuo at 541-972-5595.
