Westlake Hit-and-Run Crash Kills 2, Driver Arrested for Possible DUI

(Thechieftainspear) –Authorities are investigating a deadly hit-and-run collision in Los Angeles’ Westlake neighborhood that left two people dead and at least four others injured on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 12:20 p.m. at the intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Union Avenue when the driver of a black Alfa Romeo reportedly collided with multiple vehicles and fled the scene, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Initial reports indicated a three-car collision, but an update released by LAPD at 4 p.m. confirmed the crash involved four vehicles and six individuals who sustained injuries. Among the injured was the suspected driver, who was later located and taken into custody.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to the scene and found two adults trapped inside a vehicle. Emergency personnel worked to free the victims, both of whom were transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Sadly, both later died from their injuries, police confirmed.

Two additional individuals were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, though their ages and identities have not been disclosed. Unverified witness accounts suggest two more people, possibly minors, left the scene on foot with visible injuries.

Police located the alleged driver not far from the crash site, near James M. Wood and Olympic boulevards. The suspect was hospitalized following the crash but has since been arrested and is facing charges that may include driving under the influence. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.

Authorities have not yet released the names of those involved and are continuing to gather evidence.
