Juvenile Killed, 5 Minors Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash in Orange County

(Thechieftainspear) –A tragic single-vehicle crash in Dana Point on Tuesday left one teenager dead and five others hospitalized, authorities confirmed.

The collision occurred shortly before noon near Dana Point Harbor Drive and Island Way, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Investigators say a group of juveniles was traveling in a Dodge pickup truck when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered off the road and slammed into a tree. The young driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Five other minors inside the truck survived the crash but were injured. Emergency responders transported three of them to the hospital in critical condition, while two others sustained less serious injuries.

The Sheriff’s Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team is handling the case, but officials have not yet disclosed what may have led to the deadly wreck.

Further information about the victims or the circumstances surrounding the crash has not yet been released as the investigation continues.
