(Thechieftainspear) –A violent domestic incident in North Hollywood turned deadly Friday afternoon, leaving two people dead after a stabbing and a police-involved shooting near an elementary school.
The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a 911 call just before 1 p.m. regarding a reported assault with a deadly weapon at a residence on the 7800 block of Beck Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers found a woman who had been stabbed multiple times. A man at the scene, believed to be the attacker, was still holding a knife. According to LAPD, officers ordered him to drop the weapon, but instead of complying, the man allegedly charged at them. Police responded with gunfire.
Both the man and the stabbing victim were rushed to local hospitals, where they later died from their injuries.
The attack happened just across the street from Arminta Street Elementary School, where students and staff were outside at the time of the incident. The school was immediately placed on lockdown, and children and teachers quickly took shelter inside.

Walter Lorente, a longtime neighborhood resident, described the chaos that followed.
“My wife heard gunshots and called me in a panic,” he said. “Kids were running, people were scared—it was terrifying. I told her to lock the gate.”
Lorente said his granddaughter, a 7-year-old student at the school, and his daughter, a teacher’s aide, were both there when the school locked down.
“They were shaken up,” he said. “This is normally a peaceful place. Nothing like this ever happens here.”
Authorities have not released the identities of the man and woman involved, and it’s still unclear what their relationship was. No officers were injured in the confrontation.
Police cordoned off the surrounding streets as the investigation continued into the evening.
Anyone who witnessed the incident or has surveillance footage is urged to contact the LAPD at 1-877-527-3247.
