Long Beach – A disturbing video of a woman throwing a dog in Long Beach has sparked a criminal investigation and widespread outrage. The graphic footage, initially posted on Facebook on Christmas Day, shows the woman grabbing and hurling the dog toward a fence, while another dog lies injured on the ground. Although the video was later deleted, The Kris Kelly Foundation recorded it and shared it on their page.
Neighbors who witnessed the incident were horrified. One local recalled, “I saw it happen and felt terrible. I yelled at her, and by the time I came downstairs, she was gone. She should go to jail, and whatever happens in jail happens to her.” Another neighbor expressed concern over the woman’s behavior, warning that if someone could harm an animal, they might pose a threat to children as well. “It’s horrifying,” they said.

A group of dog advocates took action after seeing the video. They met with the dog’s owner, who confirmed that the woman in the footage was the same person seen throwing the dog. However, when confronted, the woman denied the accusation and fled the scene.
The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) is now investigating the case. Officer Eric Stachura provided a statement, saying, “The LBPD is investigating the report of an animal cruelty incident. Preliminary investigation indicates that video footage was found showing dogs being abused by a female suspect. The suspect’s identity is still under investigation, and the case remains ongoing.”
Anyone with information about the incident is encouraged to contact Long Beach Police. Yvonne Gomez, a dog advocate involved in the case, expressed disbelief over the incident, stating, “I don’t know how anybody who can do this to a dog can sleep at night.”
