Riverside County – A Riverside County woman has been arrested on charges of kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred on Dec. 18 around 10 a.m. Deputies responded to reports of a domestic dispute near Olive Avenue and Leon Road in an unincorporated area near Winchester. Upon arrival, authorities discovered that the victim had been kidnapped and assaulted with a deadly weapon, although the specific type of weapon was not disclosed.
Paramedics transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening, officials reported.
“The suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived,” the Sheriff’s Office stated. Despite a thorough search of the area, the suspect was not immediately located.

Following an investigation, authorities identified the suspect as 44-year-old Olga Mendez of Menifee. On Dec. 27, investigators apprehended Mendez in Paramount. She was arrested and booked on multiple charges, including kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, and two unrelated warrants.
Mendez is currently being held at the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta on $100,000 bail.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not provided further details.
