Oakland – Mobs of suspects targeted two Oakland gas stations in separate robberies on Sunday morning, according to the Oakland Police Department.
The first robbery occurred around 4:45 a.m. at an Arco gas station located in the 5100 block of Shattuck Avenue. Police say a group of individuals arrived in vehicles and used blunt objects to break into the station. They then demanded property from an employee, who complied. The suspects fled before officers could arrive.

Less than two hours later, officers responded to a second robbery at a Shell gas station in the 500 block of Hegenberger Road, around 6:15 a.m. In this case, multiple suspects, also arriving in vehicles, threatened an employee with a blunt object and demanded property. As in the previous robbery, the suspects fled before the police arrived.
It remains unclear if the same group of suspects was involved in both incidents.
