A man was arraigned Monday on six felony charges after authorities found him in possession of dozens of cloned EBT cards and over $60,000 in cash.
Norbert Karaba, who is currently being held on $1 million bail, faces charges of grand theft of access cards and money laundering. His attorney entered a not guilty plea on his behalf, and a preliminary hearing is set for February 11.

Karaba’s arrest followed a sting operation in which investigators discovered 78 cloned EBT cards and $63,952 in cash. The operation began after Karaba used a fraudulent EBT card to withdraw money from an ATM in south Bakersfield, prosecutors said.
