T.I. and Tiny Harris initially celebrated a major legal victory when a jury awarded them $71.4 million, finding that MGA Entertainment’s popular LOL Surprise! OMG Dolls violated the trade dress of the OMG Girlz—a group that once included their daughter, Zonnique Pullins. The Harrises argued that MGA unfairly profited from copying the unique style of the OMG Girlz.
However, a recent decision by a federal judge has significantly reduced the award. Citing a lack of evidence showing bad faith by MGA, the judge slashed the damages by $53.6 million, leaving a final compensatory award of $17.8 million.
