Free Food for First Responders: California Restaurants Step Up During Wildfires

As the wildfires continue to impact the Los Angeles area, several restaurants, both local and national chains, are stepping up to support firefighters and first responders by offering free meals. If you’re a first responder in need, here are some places providing complimentary food to help during this critical time. Be sure to check with each restaurant as these offers may vary by location. Blaze Pizza
Nine Blaze Pizza locations across Southern California are offering first responders a free 11-inch pizza (simple or with one topping) through Sunday, January 12. The chain shared its support in a recent Instagram post, stating, “We hope everyone is staying safe.”

Fat Sal’s Deli
Fat Sal’s Deli, a California-based sandwich shop, is offering free meals to first responders at several locations including Hollywood, Westwood, Encino, Venice, and Culver City. The restaurant expressed their gratitude with an Instagram post: “To our incredibly brave first responders – when you get a moment, enjoy a free meal.”

In-N-Out Burger
Certain Southern California locations of In-N-Out Burger are providing free meals for firefighters. In addition to its regular locations, In-N-Out has stationed “cookout trucks” near the fire-affected areas to ensure firefighters are well-fed.

“It’s been an honor to provide complimentary meals for firefighters with our cookout trucks and at our locations near the areas greatly affected by the fires,” In-N-Out said on Instagram.

KFC
KFC is offering free KFC Bowls to first responders, including law enforcement, emergency medical services, fire service members, and military personnel involved in relief efforts. This offer is available at participating locations through Monday, January 20. Be sure to check KFC’s website for a list of participating restaurants.

Norm’s
The Southern California-based diner chain, Norm’s, is offering a free entrée to firefighters and police officers until 11 p.m. on January 12. Additionally, Norm’s is donating $1 from each “Bigger Better Breakfast” order to the LAFD Foundation Emergency Fund. Please note, this offer is not valid at their Las Vegas location.

Shake Shack
Shake Shack is offering first responders a free Shackburger at any Los Angeles County location through Sunday, January 12. “A small thank you for all that you do,” the company shared on social media.

Sizzler
Sizzler locations in Van Nuys, Los Feliz, Palmdale, and Culver City are offering free meals to firefighters and evacuees. Meal options include a six-ounce steak, six jumbo crispy shrimp, or a Malibu chicken dish, along with a side and a fountain beverage. To claim your meal, simply let the cashier know you’re there for the fire relief meal.

These local restaurants are offering a valuable source of support as first responders continue their crucial work in the fire-stricken areas.
