Maine woman dies after SUV turns into path of oncoming pickup in Glenburn crash

GLENBURN, Maine — A 65-year-old woman is dead after a morning crash at a busy Glenburn intersection left one vehicle mangled and three others hurt, officials say.

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene at around 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Hudson Road (Route 221) and Pushaw Road.

Linda Burrill, of Bradford, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. She was pronounced dead while being transported to the hospital.

How the Crash Happened

Investigators said a black 2020 Chevrolet Equinox was heading southbound on Hudson Road when the driver attempted to turn left onto Pushaw Road.

The turn put the Equinox directly in the path of an oncoming blue 2017 Chevrolet Silverado traveling northbound and pulling a trailer.

The two vehicles collided in the intersection.

Three Others Taken to Hospital

The driver of the Equinox and two people inside the Silverado all suffered minor injuries and were transported for treatment.

Their names have not been released.

Investigation Ongoing

The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office said the crash remains under active investigation.

Officials confirmed no additional details will be made public at this time.

Authorities have not yet indicated whether charges will be filed in connection with the crash.
