SoCal(Thechieftainspear) – A North Hollywood woman is celebrating an emotional reunion with her beloved French Bulldog, who was missing for nearly two years before being found nearly 100 miles away.
Yasmine Haezart had all but lost hope after her dog, Havoc, vanished from her neighborhood. The French Bulldog slipped through a small opening near her cul-de-sac and was quickly picked up by a passing driver.
“It’s been exactly 791 days since I last saw him,” Haezart shared, describing the heartbreaking ordeal. “The last two years of my life were stolen—just like Havoc was.”
Determined to find him, Haezart took extraordinary measures. She hired scent-tracking dogs, put up countless flyers, and launched a social media campaign that gained widespread attention. She even left her job as a teacher for six months to focus entirely on the search, posting daily updates and rallying support online.
“I did everything possible,” she said. “I created a whole community—Havoc’s Army—of people constantly on the lookout for him.”

That relentless dedication ultimately led to their reunion. Havoc had somehow ended up in Apple Valley, a city in San Bernardino County. After escaping from the individuals who had taken him, Good Samaritans found the dog and shared his photo online. They then brought him to the Apple Valley Animal Shelter, where staff scanned his microchip.
“The next morning, I got a call,” Haezart recalled. “They asked me to read his microchip number, and when I did, they said, ‘It’s Havoc. We have him.’”
French Bulldogs are among the most frequently stolen dog breeds, making microchipping a critical tool in recovering lost pets. SPCALA officials emphasize the importance of not only microchipping but also spaying or neutering pets to deter illegal breeding.
“Unaltered French Bulldogs are often targeted for breeding, which is why it’s important to take extra precautions,” said Miriam Davenport, Vice President of SPCALA.
After an exhausting two-year journey, Havoc has finally returned home—this time to an even bigger family. While searching for her lost dog, Haezart ended up rescuing two other French Bulldogs in need.
Despite the hardship, she remains grateful for the kindness of strangers who helped bring Havoc home.
“This reunion is proof of the power of community and the goodness of people,” she said. “There are still people out there who care, and they made this possible.”
During her search for Havoc, Haezart also played a role in reuniting five other missing or stolen French Bulldogs with their rightful owners—a testament to her unwavering dedication.
