Glasgow, Kentucky: Pregnant Walmart Worker Shot Dead in Car, Unborn Baby Also Killed — Suspect Caught in Woods

A 22-year-old pregnant woman was gunned down while sitting in a parked car in Glasgow, Kentucky, in what police are calling a domestic violence attack. Her unborn daughter did not survive either.

Ava “Jane” Woodcock, a local Walmart employee, was shot on April 6 along Cleveland Avenue. The alleged shooter, Brandon Bond, 24, fled into nearby woods immediately after the attack.

Emergency responders rushed Woodcock to a local hospital. She was then airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead the following day. Her unborn daughter — named Neveah Marie Woodcock — also did not survive.

Glasgow Police officers tracked Bond down in the same wooded area where he had fled. He was taken into custody without further incident.

Bond was later indicted by a Barren County grand jury on three serious charges — murder relating to domestic violence, first-degree fetal homicide, and first-degree fleeing or evading police on foot. He is currently being held on a $2 million bond, with a court appearance scheduled for June 1.

According to her obituary, Woodcock was known for her contagious laughter and kind heart. She loved animals and had dreams of becoming a veterinarian one day. She is survived by a daughter.

The exact relationship between Bond and Woodcock has not been officially confirmed by authorities.

The case has shaken the small Glasgow community, drawing attention to the ongoing crisis of domestic violence across Kentucky and the nation.
