HOLLYWOOD, Fla. — Authorities are investigating after a woman’s body was discovered along the shoreline of Hollywood Beach on Wednesday evening.
According to police, officers responded to a 911 call reporting a body that had washed ashore near the area of New Mexico Street. When they arrived at the scene, they located the body of an adult woman.
Investigators described the victim as a white female, but her identity has not yet been determined.
The Hollywood Police Department’s Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and is working to identify the woman and determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
Police have not released additional details, including how long the body may have been in the water or whether foul play is suspected.
