Lottery officials revealed on Monday that Rosemary Casarotti won the historic prize. However, no additional details about her background were provided, and she was not present at the press event.

Casarotti chose to receive her winnings as a lump sum, which will total over $570 million after deductions. She purchased the ticket at Sunshine Food and Gas on Rhonda Road in Cottonwood, securing the largest Mega Millions jackpot ever won in California.
