SoCal (Thechieftainspear) – A 24-year-old woman from San Bernardino County has been arrested on attempted murder charges following a road rage shooting on the 10 Freeway. Authorities with the California Highway Patrol (CHP) say the suspect was identified and located using automated license plate reader (ALPR) technology.
The incident occurred around 8:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes of the freeway, just east of Riverside Avenue in the San Bernardino area. According to investigators, a dispute over a lane change escalated when the driver of a gray Nissan Rogue—later identified as Angeline Marie Gable of Loma Linda—became enraged.
Gable allegedly pulled up alongside a black 2024 Honda Civic and fired multiple shots at the vehicle, hitting it several times. The male driver of the Civic was unharmed, but his vehicle sustained visible bullet damage.
A witness immediately called 911 to report the shooting, prompting CHP officers to respond. Upon locating the victim’s vehicle, authorities confirmed the bullet holes and began their investigation.

License Plate Reader Technology Leads to Arrest
The CHP’s Office of Criminal Investigations utilized real-time crime-fighting tools, including the Flock Safety ALPR system, which captured an image of the suspect’s vehicle. Flock cameras, widely used by law enforcement agencies, provide data on vehicle make, model, color, and unique identifiers.
Armed with this information, Fontana police officers spotted the suspect’s Nissan Rogue just after 5 p.m. that same day and initiated a traffic stop. Gable, along with another adult female passenger, was detained until CHP officers arrived.
During a search of the vehicle, detectives discovered a loaded firearm that matched the weapon description given by a witness. Gable was then taken into custody.
Charges and Investigation
Gable was booked into the San Bernardino County Detention Center on multiple felony charges, including attempted murder and firing a gun at an occupied vehicle.
CHP Captain Lance Berns condemned the violent act, stating, “Deliberate acts of violence such as these will not be tolerated.”
Authorities have not released additional details about Gable’s female passenger or whether she played a role in the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing .
