Hawk Point Men Arrested After Armed PS4 Robbery — One Said They Did It "Out of Boredom"

HAWK POINT, Mo. — Two young men from Hawk Point are facing serious felony charges after allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint — and one of them told police the whole thing happened because they were simply bored.

Hayden Schuler, 18, and Alexavier Rodriguez, 20, were both charged with first-degree robbery and armed criminal action, according to court documents filed by the Troy Police Department.

How It Happened

Rodriguez reportedly arranged a meeting with the victim through Snapchat, pretending he wanted to buy a PlayStation 4. When the victim answered the door, he was met not with a buyer — but with three people pointing firearms at him.

The victim handed over a bag containing the PlayStation 4, a pair of shoes, and other personal items.

A juvenile was also present during the incident but has not been named in the charges.

“We Were Just Bored”

What makes this case stand out is what Rodriguez told police afterward. He openly admitted to taking the items and called the decision “stupid.”

“We all just weren’t thinking that clearly, you know what I’m saying, being dumb and bored,” Rodriguez told officers.

Schuler, meanwhile, told police he had no idea the meeting would turn into a robbery and denied carrying a firearm.

Where Things Stand

Both men are currently being held on a $25,000 bond each. The charges — first-degree robbery and armed criminal action — carry significant prison time under Missouri law.

What started as a casual Snapchat conversation ended with two men behind bars and a victim robbed at gunpoint. All over a PlayStation.
