Meth, brass knuckles and pills: Two Onaway residents arrested after drug raid near Tower

CHEBOYGAN COUNTY, Mich. — A drug investigation in Cheboygan County ended with two Onaway residents behind bars after detectives uncovered a cache of methamphetamine, weapons, and narcotics at a local residence.

On May 27, detectives from the Straits Area Narcotics Enforcement (SANE) team executed a search warrant at a home near Tower.

What they found inside raised serious concern.

What Investigators Found Inside the Home

The search turned up suspected methamphetamine, prescription pills, ammunition, brass knuckles, and what investigators described as evidence of narcotics distribution.

Both occupants of the residence were taken into custody the same day.

Bryan Tucker, 33, and Andrea Walsh, 39, both of Onaway, were arrested and booked into the Cheboygan County Jail.

The Charges They Now Face

Tucker and Walsh were arraigned the following morning, May 28, in the 89th District Court of Cheboygan County.

Tucker faces five counts, each carrying a habitual third offender designation:

  • Delivery and manufacturing of methamphetamine
  • Possession of metallic knuckles
  • Possession of ammunition by a prohibited person
  • Possession of buprenorphine
  • Maintaining a drug house

Walsh faces four charges:

  • Delivery and manufacturing of methamphetamine
  • Possession of metallic knuckles
  • Possession of buprenorphine
  • Maintaining a drug house

The habitual third offender label attached to Tucker’s charges means he could face significantly enhanced sentencing if convicted.

What Comes Next

Both Tucker and Walsh are scheduled to return to the 89th District Court on June 11 for their next hearing.

The arrests stem from an ongoing investigation by SANE, a multi-agency narcotics task force that operates across the Straits Area region of northern Michigan. Michigan State Police confirmed the details of the arrests in an official release.

No further details about the investigation have been made public at this time.
