Italy Just Ranked America's Best Pizzerias — And New Jersey Is Absolutely Dominating the List

New York may claim the pizza crown, but it’s a Garden State joint that Italy’s toughest food critics can’t stop raving about.

If you’ve been sleeping on New Jersey pizza, consider this your wake-up call — straight from Italy itself.

50TopPizza, one of the most respected pizza ranking authorities in the world, just dropped its 2026 list of the 50 best pizzerias across the United States. The verdict? New Jersey isn’t just on the map — it’s owning it.

Jersey City’s Razza Pizza Artigianale exploded from No. 12 last year all the way to No. 3 in the entire country, cementing its status as one of America’s elite pizza destinations. Owner Dan Richer didn’t just earn a top spot — he was also personally handed the prestigious Performance of the Year 2026 Robo Award, a rare honor recognizing exceptional achievement in the pizza world.

Not far behind, Bricco Coal Fired Pizza in Haddon Township held strong at No. 31 — inching up from its No. 28 slot in 2025. Two years running, two New Jersey spots. That’s not a coincidence. That’s dominance.

And Jersey City wasn’t done yet. Pizzeria Porta — with locations in Hudson County, Asbury Park, and Montclair — earned a coveted spot on the site’s “Excellent Pizzerias” list, further proof that this corner of the Garden State has become a serious pizza destination.

The No. 1 title in America went to Una Pizza Napoletana in New York — but here’s the twist: it’s run by Anthony Mangieri, a New Jersey native. So even the country’s top pizza has Jersey roots.

Next time someone argues New York has the best pizza in America, show them this list. Italy already settled the debate.
