Philadelphia weather this weekend: Sunny skies and perfect temps are here — but don't get too comfortable

Philadelphia residents, this is your weekend.

After weeks of unpredictable weather, the Philadelphia region is finally getting a break — and it could not have come at a better time heading into the holiday weekend.

Friday brings wall-to-wall sunshine with highs near 79°F and virtually no humidity. No umbrella, no heavy jacket — just sunscreen and a good reason to step outside.

Friday night may be the highlight of the week. Comfortable temperatures dropping to the mid-50s make it ideal for backyard grilling, a neighborhood gathering, or even a campout with the kids under the stars.

What the weekend looks like

Saturday cools slightly with a high of 72°F before rebounding Sunday to 77°F under mostly sunny skies. Monday continues the streak with highs back near 79°F.

The first rain chance does not arrive until Tuesday — and even then it is only around 40%.

Drought conditions improving, but not over

The past weekend’s rain brought some relief to the region. Parts of Delaware County and Chester County in Pennsylvania, along with portions of northern Delaware, have moved out of severe drought and back into moderate drought. However, most of the Philadelphia region remains under severe drought conditions.
