A Sunday morning crash left one person hospitalized after a vehicle slammed through the gate of a residential home in Richmond Heights, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. on Monroe Street near Douglas Drive. Two vehicles collided, and the force of the impact sent one car crashing through a home’s gate.
One person was transported to the hospital. Their condition was not immediately released.
A neighbor who lives nearby said reckless driving in the area is nothing new.
“People drive very erratic. I would say volatile,” she told. “I feel like some people need to get their driver’s license renewed again.”
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.
